Preventative Maintenance Work
In 2004 Port Equipment Engineering Ltd. established itself as UK & Eire agent for Finnish translifter-trailer firm Liftec following a request to attend to a set of translifters & cassettes on site removing the requirement for Finnish Engineers to fly to the UK for repairs.
Port Equipment then designed a bespoke maintenance plan which involved scheduled servicing, daily maintenance & operator checklists. Audited & reviewed this proved to be very beneficial in reducing downtime & also for parts & component holding & ordering.
We then established a monitored impress stock at our Immingham premises, again speeding up the process / downtime.
Nowadays we have Engineers based at Rotherham three days per week managing the Terberg & Liftec maintenance with any major refurbishments being completed by other Engineers at our Immingham base. 16 years of support to the ever changing steel industry.
