Gottwald Crane

Wire Bogey Assembly

We were engaged at 17:00 on a Friday evening to perform reactive works on a major cargo handling crane.

With three ships awaiting discharge, we had to arrange many areas swiftly.

Within twelve hours the following components were either refurbished or manufactured following careful dismantling:-

  • EN24 Pin – turned to 140mm diameter head size. Pin turned to 120mm diameter bearing size. Drilled through and tapped both ends 1/4 BSP. Keep plate slot milled. Grease way drilled.
  • Bearing shields – manufactured x2. Turned outer diameter location. Drilled and bored 120mm diameter clear. Drilled x8 9mm diameter holes on a 200 pitch circle diameter. Counter sunk to accept new screws. Material – EN8- 230mm diameter, 30mm thick.

Reactive tasks like this are ‘bread and butter’ to us. Don’t hesitate we are here 24hours a day. One hourly rate!
